How do I fix "Upload failed. Make sure what you're uploading is an image."

Hi! How do I fix “Upload failed. Make sure what you’re uploading is an image.” when uploading an image in Roblox Website and Roblox Studio.

I’ve done these things:

  • Restart my PC
  • Change the file name
  • Compress the file
    But it won’t helped me.

And also these are the screenshots:

The image:

i noticed it says “pnq” here, have you double checked if the file type is correct?
also try uploading it as a jpg, to see if it’s works or not. both in website and asset importer

It says .png except the “g” is cut off.

Good idea but .jpg and .jpeg files often have more compression artifacts than .png files and don’t support pixel transparency, so while yes, that is a solution, it’s not ideal for an image that has a lot of detail in it, or alpha values.

@rakaxcvn457 You may have to rencode the image. This can be done by putting it through an image editing software such as paint.net and exporting the image again using different encoding. For some reason Roblox seems to have trouble identifying images that are encoded in a certain way so try the method I mentioned and see if that works.
