I tried hyping up my game’s big update by posting in the bulletin board, advertising on discord, posting on twitter, posting a group shout, and still my game’s visits keep declining. How do you guys hype up your updates?
Preferably using teasers to hype up your fanbase is the way to do it if you know that the updates are going to be interesting. Keep it a mystery but also reveal a little.
I’ve done little sneak peaks in discord as well, like small, blurry, or obscured views of new stuff.
Hello there,
Feedback
to hype up the update, you need to make the game really fun like a new mechanic, new feature, new vehicles, and also the thing that you can do with the game that can make the player stay longer.
for the building, you can change a better city like,
Example of the city
Jailbreak, mad city, and prison showdown
Better item
like a bomb, rocket launcher, pistol, shotgun, and also other equipment that really useful for the player.
I think that all I can give you to hype up the game. that all for now and i will see you on the net reply
Oh hey rising, nice to see you here.
My new update did include new uis, mechanics, and a new form of combat through tanks, and added another street of buildings.
can you also add something that was useful for the player like…
shooting item
more vehicles that can make player much more fun like vehicles that can shoot explosive
maybe you try this one I hope it really attracted other user
I’ve added weapons and new vehicles, being the tanks.
You should hype updates by showing little 30 second or lower trailers that show a little bit of what your updating but leaving a big cliffhanger. Makes them excited for what your planning to put in the game, also you could make a thumbnail that will only last until the update actually rolls out like a little clip from the trailer. One example of games that do the trailer then a cliffhanger is Jailbreak. They hyped everyone up for the new “biggest” update they ever put out with little trailers and a cliffhanger. Those work really well.
Hey, I am a huge community engagement person that works closely with development, hyping up is something I have lots of experience in and do a lot!
Firstly, using preferably discord or twitter, I’d hype up updates using sneak peeks of development progress, specifically the best parts, once you’ve got the main thing working, take a gif or screenshot to post with a catchy phrase… or you could add a slight riddle to it.
Another method is to foreshadow the event, once again through the use of riddles and mystery, it’s a nice puzzle to complete, and rewarded with the surprise of a new update.
If you haven’t already add your discord/twitter whatever you most actively use for your game in the social links tab on your group or game page, do remember to refrain from specifically posting a discord invite since it’s against TOS, however, you can guide people to the social links tab.
Good luck!
