I feel like my game is missing something to keep the player hooked.
I have changed a few things and tried to improve the tutorial.
I thought creating multipliers and collecting resources while spawning blocks would keep the player entertained, but it feels like i am missing something for the player to do.
I have thought about each player having an island, that they would need to upgrade, and it could have some sort of tycoon or something similar.
They few players that join, play the game for about 5 minutes before they leave.
You could probably add a lot of things. But for starters, maybe add visual effects when the blocks drop down the pit. Invite Friend rewards could be useful too. The biggest suggestion I would say is to improve the UI, by adding UIGradient, UIStroke, and more.
Thanks, i will look into those things.
I advertised by using the ad manager, but it was not worth they money at all as i only got 3000 visits from 21 ad credits
I really feel like you should completely remake the UI and make it feel more spaced and not scuffed. For me, it looks extremely scuffed and bad. I’m sorry if I’m being harsh but I just think the UI is really bad, it really confuses me. Make it more user-friendly, take inspirations from other games that have great tutorials. Overall, I think your game is well made but just don’t start the tutorial right when the player comes into the game, make a little loading screen while they wait for everything to load. I would also like to tell you that you should make a pop-up when the player joins for the first time asking if they want the tutorial or not. I would also improve the lighting.
Here’s some clean UI examples (credit: Danielhoteaale):
See where I’m getting here? I hope I helped you understand UI a bit better and what you need to improve your game, good luck! (Note: you can also make the game look prettier with the lighting settings)
Thanks
I will remake the ui. I had also planned to add tweens and blur to it.
I hadn’t thought about the lighting, but I will also play around with that
Lighting is crucial! It’s very important in games, it drastically changes the user’s perspective on your game. I’m glad I helped, good luck on your game!
