How do I keep these parts together?

Hello! I am trying to create a boat. The boat consists of a lot of small parts, and I don’t want to anchor it. If I don’t anchor it, this is what happens: Screen Shot 2021-02-21 at 10.58.54 AM
Do I need to weld all these pieces together manually, or is there another way to stop this from happening?

Yes you have to weld the parts together if you want it to stay together when unanchored

Do I need to weld every single piece to every other piece? So if I had 50 pieces, I would need to weld it 1225 times?
(Doing (49x50)/2)

There is a way to do that, either use unions, and union the parts into less parts or use a weld plugin, and select all the parts, group them, select the parts again, and then open the plugin, and press manual weld

It does not allow me to use unions, it gives me the error “Selection contains CSG-incompatible instances”

You cant select the model itself

You have to select the parts, but make sure the Model tag isnt selected

I’ve just done that, roblox studio has just become unresponsive… (for more then five minutes)
I’ll force quit studio and try again

It happened again, should I just wait?

Yes if it becomes unresponsive when your doing the union you need to wait, as the union function has to create an specific Id for the part

I personally use the F3X Plugin whenever I need to weld items. It’s so handy.

I recommend welding as opposed to unions. I use ozzypig’s weld plugin, but the F3X pluggin also has a weld feature or you could use roblox’s weld constraints.
