So, I know pretty much mostly of the basics, I’d say I am basic - intermediate, but I want to learn the advanced scripting, But I have 0 clue where to start. Some flaws I think might be stopping me which i will admit are: Always watching videos but never scripting, taking frequent breaks when suppost to be working, having a hard time actually using my brain and figuring out somthing that i might already know, hard time learning in general, even slowly, i just really wanna get advanced and i understand its a learning process and i have to patient, but i just really want to know. Thank you for reading this post, much help appreciated. Also sorry for the bad english.
TheDevKing really helped me learn advanced scripting, so I’ll link his playlist here
Thanks alot man, do you have any other resources, ive seen others talk about him alot. But i never watched him…Does he teach advanced advanced stuff like OOP
I do not think so.
I will link some resources below, and if it helps enough, mark my replies as the solution
Beware - this is Lua (original) not LuaU (roblox modified version)
The dev king sucks.
Use roblox documentation.
Here is an example:
Tutorials on the developer forum are also pretty useful.
The only way to become advanced is simply, doing random stuff, random projects, etc, over, and over again, until you understand the concept.
Pretty simple, there are ways to help boost your knowledge, but just learning isnt going to make you advanced, you gotta put it into action.
I would recommend the docs as they are really helpful, along with some tutorials on certain matters can help a lot!
So yeah!
To be honest, yeah, but it gives you examples on what to search up and what to expect (yk, the basics)
Watch BrawlDev’s advanced tutorials. They really helped me become more advanced.
Thanks, prior to posting this, ive read other posts about my same topic, and most of them said from the roblox documentation, and the devforum, im going to take your advice and see how it goes
Good luck on your adventure then.
He doesn’t suck its just his tutorials are outdated which is obvious however the things he teachers does usually hold up for the rest of your scripting career. to say he sucks is to say that all the information he gives you is completely useless or trash. Simply not true at all.
To become advanced is to be familiar with the basics and then to be familiar with more technical or complex stuff.
Learn about coroutines, the task functions, network ownership, try messing with AI and camera manipulation and other things like datastores and shared messages between servers. Things like that can make you become a more advanced scripter than you was before.
