How do I make houses look abandoned and unfishished?

I’m trying to make a ghost town but I don’t know how I could make houses look unfinished/under construction.
I also want them to have an old type of effect and look abandoned.
Showcases and pictures would be greatly appreciated.

I would try and use custom materials, as you have a lot of freedom with them.

If you are trying to put some grime in I would suggest using a part that has a decal on it.

Whereas for the textures, you could use PBR, or just the Texture element that is already in place.

Alright, will do. Thank you for the help.

No problem at all, glad to help.

Hey! I’m @Lil_SharkyBoy a 3D Artist and a Graphic Designer on the platform. Well, to be honest the materials play a REALLY big role on this type of buildings / structures!

A simple and really good example could be:

Source: https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-models/exterior/house/lowpoly-abandoned-building-01

And as you could see the materials on the walls and it-self on all over the structure is pretty well made and it gives the look of “abandoned” or “unfinished” that you want to reach out!

But… What if I don’t know how to handle pretty well the Textures into ROBLOX Studio? Well, there’s tutorials out there about Texturing and then you could come apply it. Also, the second way is to make it LOOK unfinished or abandoned by not doing some parts of the structure or just deleting some of it at the end.

As you can see, there’s some extra stuff like little brick on the side of the building (image) that this ones make it look even better since it looks like they went off of it-self! Always I say that if you don’t know where to start just go to Google and google whatever you want to reach, a reference is always the good way to take!

Well, this is all what I can reply / say to this post and also, wish you luck and I hope this helped you atleast a little bit!

Have a nice day and keep the motivation and good work mate!

Thank you, this has helped me alot. I will make sure to start using textures and removing parts. Should I put the parts on the ground to add realisim or nah? @Lil_SharkyBoy

Well, is just a little preference or a recommendation but the little parts at the side of the building is because the structure has been destroyed (if you know what I mean!) so that’s the why of them. Try to experiment with Roblox Studio and then come out with something really cool. I can’t say really much since I’m just an epic blenderer (just kidding) but yeah, wish you luck buddy!

Have a nice day!
