Hello, I’m working on a tank system that is meant to be as realistic as it can while being fun. And, there’s another game called Multi-crew Tank Combat 4 which also happens to be the same way. And if I try to implement anything I have planned, it will be a direct copy of the tank system in that game. Please, I need help.
Make it even more realistic. If it’s more realistic, it isn’t seen as a copy.
yea, MTC is a bit arcady in terms of functionality, ex; fast repairs with super simple repairing system, driver and gunner have full third person, i’m working on a prompt system framework for better interior controls, for example buttons and controls in the cockpit and interior of planes, ships, cars, tanks, and every vehicle in general. once i get it working i’ll probably post it as a resource for everyone else, mainly because i personally think it looks awesome and unique, and i’d like to help everyone out to my best ability.
also plan to have many types of ammunition, manually loaded rounds, proper ammo detonation, better armor and impact effects, and fully functioning accurate explosive reactive armor which should be pretty awesome. (not hating on MTC, one of my fav games, but it doesn’t have this stuff (has simulated armor) it has ammo types but they are static to the tank and the stored ammo can’t be changed, it’s also loaded via pressing GUI buttons which seems a bit less immersive, ERA (explosive reactive armor) is also just aesthetic in this game and acts as an extra layer of armor (as far as i know) and doesn’t function to its full ability.)
i think you’re 100% correct but i’m open to more feedback because i want to know what others think as well so consider it a solution
I actually have another idea. If the game is VR compatible, then you might obtain an audience that has nowhere else to go. It will also be more immersive.
Just my thoughts.
Sounds really interesting and unique. It already sounds very realistic to me.
I think there is enough tank games out there that people aren’t going to specifically look at yours and frown, but if you want to set it apart I would say change the pacing a bit. It will feel like a different game completely and a little slower or faster isn’t going to hurt your audience as long as you start it that way (looking at you rainbow six).
what are some ways to change the pacing do you think
Well is your game about stealth/sniping or running in and close combat. Which ever side it is closer to, add elements of the other. (like tanks that are accurate and have sniper scopes for one side or tanks with close range grenades on the other)
