Photoshop, GIMP, and Paint Dot Net (not a link by the way, that’s the name) are great for creating basic textures. First however, you have to decide if you want a repeating texture or not, if so, you can just use the Texture class and modify its properties. Or, you can take a UV map (typically made in a program like Blender) so you can texture all sides of the mesh how you like. You can then import this to the TextureID of the MeshPart.

But if I don’t want repeating textures then can I just make something in one of these programs and then just put the texture on mesh for example on a car and make it big so it doesn’t repeat?

No, you have to have a UV map to texture in that case. You create those in programs like Blender.

From my understanding I believe Maplestick makes his textures inside blender. If your wanting to make your own textures i would experiment into trying different alternative softwares and see which one suits your liking. There are many alternatives today including free programs, cheap monthly softwares, etc.

And most of the softwares nowadays are good recommendations as there common programs used mainly for creating textures or materials, i would check out gimp since it’s similar to photoshop; I’ll recommend getting paid options since they can provide similar looks. I would suggest you practice a little bit.

Watch a few decent tutorials view resources things to take along when creating textures like jailbreak or other variety of games. If your going to use google images I’ll consider looking at the: Public Domain: images in the public domain can be used without permission. However images in the public domain may still require a licenses.

Thank you for your advice. About blender I don’t know I tried texturing in it but it wasn’t convenient for me. About alternatives, I searched about this but didn’t find something which would be convenient for me and my pc, but I have old photoshop so I thought about using it to do this kind of things, textures maybe lens flares.
