How do I minimize the amount of parts?

Hello, I am a pretty new developer here on the platfrom. I was playing around with a couple building styles and I finally found one that I liked. I quickly found out that the amount of parts could possibly create lag.

I’ve tried turning them into models but it didn’t make much of a difference. I then tried to minimize the amount of parts by just making them 4 models high and 1 model wide. That helped but it would still create a great amount of parts.

Does anyone have any solution for this, or do I just have to change style?

Maybe you could use textures they can be really helpful for these type of occasions.

A model wouldn’t work because it’s like putting files in a folder. You still end up with the same amount of space taken. I would suggest making a decal and using a Texture to repeat it.

What @Crossota says is also a great solution, but I would honestly recommend creating a union out of the parts. Again, it might not make a difference at all, but its worth a shot.

I am gonna go with what @Crossota said. I think it will work better long term. Plus my old way of building (the one shown in the picture) would take way longer then just building a brick and slapping a texture on it. Thank you for the tip though.

Bad but workable-ish answer: Unions
Good but tricky answer: Texture, but I was too late to answer :pensive:

I think make a mesh then put a texture on it and that will reduce lag and all sorts of stuff.
