These parts all have the smoothplastic texture, but they still fight. Is there a certain material that z fights less, or should I just suck it up and union them?
It’s not as noticable here, but as soon as you get to the altitude where they start changing a little bit in color, the z fighting gets really bad.
z-fighting will always standout if you have different color parts overlapping… the material doesn’t really matter. You could try moving up some of the parts ever so slightly.
Or, as you said, you could also union them. But the less unions you have the better.
EDIT: I just woke up sorry for my spelling/grammar.
Oh well, then I don’t know, sorry.
If they’re both the same color and material I don’t know why they’re fighting. It looks like you have the materials set to smooth plastic, but if you do not then try that.
If they’re still fighting after being set to smooth plastic and the same color then I don’t know what to do about it.
Lots of people don’t like uniting because its laggy, but what I’d recommend is unioning the parts then right click on the union and click “export” export it as a obj and insert it back in as a mesh boom now your union is a mesh and you get no lag
