I’ve seen many games where the character design feels extremely well-done or just super pleasing in general. Maybe you’ve heard of Sebastian from Pressure or Subspace from PHIGHTING! I would like to know how these kinds of avatars are created because they actually had personality and weren’t most avatars now which are just trends or random accessories that looked cool.

I’m also learning character design right now, and from what I learned, you have to think about its silhouette to make a great design. For example, take Sebastian Solace, if you put his image in a singular color, like black, and put him in a crowd of people you’ll easily recognize him and his appearance based on his silhouette. But hey, I’m still learning like you are, so there might be some flaws in my explanation, just correct me if I’m wrong.

- you need good writing skills (if you want to make a remarkable character with an iconic personality)
- imagination. use your imagination and creativity to design a great appearance (make sure the appearance fits the overall vibe and personality of the character, for example you can’t have a hello kitty looking character with a deep voice and terrifying personality unless you want to make some 2-faced character)
- as for creating and designing, you might wanna use blender if you’re going on the more advanced and high quality part (mainly uses meshes)
