How do people create/draw texture for UGCs and how do I model fur for my UGC?

Hello, I’m an amateur modeler. I have been modeling for years pretty good but I mainly rely on roblox and toolbox materials for texture. Now that I make UGC, I want to improve my texturing skills.

I want to know what software do you make your textures? What tutorials did you UGC creators learnt from, like some youtube videos you learnt from it.

I want to model fur on clothes I have been working on, I have checked the catalog to see what the furs look like but I don’t have any idea how to do it. As I see there are 2 types, one is like poking the faces then moving it out, creating spikes and another is triangles scattered around. There’s gotta be a way to model these fur spikes without editing each spike manually, right?

Yes, there is. Youtube shorts has really good tutorials on stuff like this. You can learn how to do random things if you watch youtube shorts of Blender tutorials.

I found one the other day that might help.

As for texturing, I paid $200 on Steam for Substance Painter. It’s very overpriced. It’s what most people use. If you want something free, you have to look into alternatives to Substance Painter.

Some people learn how to set up materials in Blender, and there’s tutorials, but I personally find it overcomplicated.
