How do people make the default R15 character into a mesh deformation character

Hello,
I have seen people who have the default R15 character but things like the arms, legs, and torso are mesh deformations so they are smoothly attached to each other. Is there a simple way to achieve a mesh deformation of the default R15 character or did those people modify the rig in blender and import it. Also are you able to animate that mesh deformation character in studio?

There’s no way to use bones within Studio, Studio merely just supports them. (I think?)

That said, the only way I’m aware of is to implement bones in a rig using blender, and then importing it into Studio.

So they modify the default R15 avatar in blender then import it?

I actually think it’d be an R6, because R15s have oddly shaped limbs.

I think you’d use an R6 rig and implement bones in each limb so it stretches seamlessly.

You could also check to see if anyone’s uploaded a free model of that, not too sure.
