How do we make obj smooth for the blender 2.79?

Hello,

My name is ze_ld and I have a question on the blender 2.79 that I started using.

I see a lot of GFX with smooth effect on lightning(?) and I want to know how to do it.

Let me know on the comment section.

Thanks.

What do you mean by smooth OBJ? Do you mean the model, or the lighting? Or anything else?

Do you mean Smooth Shading?
The quickest and easiest way to do this in 2.79 is, in object mode, select your mesh then click Shading: Smooth in the Tool Shelf (as shown below).

It is pretty hard for me to explain, so let me find a random ad from the roblox website page to explain you.

Like that picture above for example, the effect that makes the model’s face to have a little dent.

So, you DO want that? Or you don’t?

Yes I do. Just like that smooth surface with several dents on certain marks like face.

This is achieved via Normal Maps. I recommend you look up tutorials about how they work.
There’s probably a forum post that explains the process of converting your faces, but I believe you can just use the black and white face as the input to a Bump Node.

Thank you for your replies! I will check things out.
