Hello, fellow developers I am just wondering how do you builder under terrain as I am building a sewer.
First, open the Terrain Editor and navigate to the “Edit” Ribbon.
Try using the subtract or negate tools to slowly carve out a tunnel for your sewer.
Any holes that peep above the surface can be covered up.
Alternatively, use the convert tool to convert the desired material into air, or do the same with part to terrain.
After making the hole, then add the sewer pipes in. A helpful tip is to no-clip into solid ground so you can see what you’re doing.
Or… make a trench, put the sewer pipes in, and then cover over the top. It’s that simple.
Hope this helped.
What do you mean? Have you tried just… using the terrain remove tool to clear out sections so that you have room to build underground?
I don’t really understand what you’re asking. What have you tried thus far?
yes i have im just bad at using the terrain tool
Could you show screenshots of what you have so far? That would help us in visualizing the situation.
i have not started it yet but i was just wondering how
Use the terrain editor, and try making a hole in the ground using the steps I told you above.
I would suggest reading this article to get images, examples, and descriptions of all Terrain Tools.
Try making something right now, and then asking more specific questions.
is there a way to erode a baseplate?
Or is that not possible???
It really just takes time to get ahold of terrain skills. I used to be very bad at it, just takes a bit of practice.
To delete a grass baseplate, click the “create” ribbon in the terrain editor. Then, click “clear” and click “yes.” I agree with Shadow_Pentatonix. The more you use the editor, the easier it gets.
