Hi there! This is a question I have for modelers out there. I wonder if you use any platforms to make models and what you use. I want to become better at modeling and thought it would be cool to know how other people make their models.
I use studio sometimes, but blender for other times. Maya is probably the best, although it costs money.
I’d recommend blender, as most aaa games use it as well as most roblox devs. It’s also free and high quality. Roblox studio works however you’re going to have a tough time creating things more complicated than simple architecture. Remember, you can only do so much with cubes, wedges, cylinders, balls, trusses, and corner wedges.
Blender is a really powerful tool for free. I started seriously learning it just over a year ago for Roblox builds and now I have a non-Roblox related part time job thanks to it. Could even consider it a life skill because it has so many applications. Either way just get into it and you won’t be wasting your time.
If I am making greenery, I always use Blender. For blocky builds I use Roblox Studio.
Blender or Maya. People make Blender seem a lot more complicated than it actually is, you’ll reach a point where everything seems so hard and out of reach. If you manage to power through that phase, things will start getting easy as soon as they got hard. Making models in Blender is MUCH easier than making models in Roblox. Period.
i love blender for modelling, as it’s a really versatile piece of software and of course it’s free
i downloaded it after i got frustrated with roblox’s union errors and the basic modelling aspect of it was really quite easy to learn
I normally use the unions in Roblox Studio, I do not believe my computer is capable of using blender, so its good for the time being.
