I’m making a pretty large scale game with a lot of parts and a fair amount of meshes. The game runs smoothly on my pc, which is meant for gaming. And it runs smoothly on my iPhone, but pretty much every game runs smoothly on my iPhone.
How do I know if the game is going to be laggy for people with bad laptops, old phones, etc.? Is there a way to see the game’s performance?
Depends on what side are you on. If you mainly build stuff (looking at your badge) and you don’t do scripting then just make sure you don’t “overdetail” models, especially smaller distant objects. Use as few triangles as possible. There is no workaround to have a good looking game to be runnable on low end devices other than following general rules such as using fewer triangles (as mentioned), use a normal map for textures to make flat surfaces look like 3d without actually making a 3d model (such as walls, floors), hide unwanted models, etc. Beyond the Dark looks fantastic for roblox standards, but i think on high settings this game was lagging quite badly on my rtx 3060ti thus making this game literally unplayable for like 95% casual players. You just can’t know if your buildings are “optimized” unless they are terribly built shout-out to yandere simulator’s toothbrushes.
