How Do You Make A Good Gui?

So i want to learn how to make good/decent Guis, but i am not good at designing Guis. Lets say i was trying to make a game called The Ooz and i was trying to make a custom loading screen. But the best i could make was this.

So all i want to know is if there are any tips,tricks so i can make better Guis. And if there are any software that can help me make good looking Guis, please tell me. Thanks :smile: !

Hey! That’s a good start on the GUI. Try getting some plugins to enhance your GUI creating. Such as roundify (rounds the edges of gui) and more.

First, start with your painting software. I would personally recommend Gimp, Paint(dot)net, or Illustrator if you have it.

Watching YouTube tutorials and getting used to the tools of your software will improve your skill.

Find reference images on Google Images to basically see what style you are going for, or just learn from them. See what fits your style, or the style of your game.

When making a GUI, give yourself feedback on how you did and how you can improve. Change it immediately if you feel something is out of place. Do not rush.

Keep practicing to improve your skills.

I agree with what everyone else on this thread said so far! I think you have made a great start! Here are some of my tips!
Shade it a bit
If you use any drawing software, you should maybe shade the edges of the slime, and and add highlights where the light hits it!
Add animations
Maybe add an animation like kinda a splat if possible for when you go into the game.
Maybe stick with one font
This way your game for any GUIs you make, your game has a signature style I guess.
My opinion
I think you’ve done such a good job so far! One thing I might say is to maybe make “the ooz” a bit bigger!

Sorry if this is off topic but when I am moving my phone and scrolling the ooz is shaking? Like slime. I
dont know if this is just me or not but it is really cool. Also I agree with what everyone else said.
