How effective are playtime reward at increasing player playtime
(Also how effective are daily reward at increasing day 1 retention)

if you offer meaningful and valuable rewards then yes, its a great way. it has worked on me at least on a few games that i play, without feeling forced to because of the rewards.
They are effective for young children playing your game. I’m assuming due to the screenshot you are targeting younger children with your game.
They are effective for holding kids in your game for longer periods of time as they want to continue getting rewards, but it may not make them return to the game. That’s a different thing on it’s own.

Both young and old players will leave a game and never join back if they are only hooked on the playtime rewards.
They ONLY help with premium users as they are more inclined to afk, in my opinion of course. (That’s if the playtime rewards are for 2+ hours or so.)
My best advice is to work on an “AFK World”, as they are seen to be more effective to keep players in the game and give them rewards without them leaving or only playing for playtime rewards.
