I want to make a story based game, so I’ll need an antagonist who is evil and an overarching plot that explores some themes. Roblox caters to a pretty young demographic so I am very limited in the mature themes I can explore, but Im having trouble figuring out how limited I am. From the community rules

So from this I understand immediately that my villain cannot commit sexual crimes nor should my story mention any sexual themes. However, the bullet after saying “illegal/unethical activities” is a bit more confusing. I’ve played tons of games with murderers and killing as themes of the story. Murder is illegal, so what exactly isn’t allowed? Also does the bullet about bullying mean I’m not allowed to promote bullying or just not portray bullying at all. Same with the threats and self self-harm point.
Also, is the portrayal of romance between fictional characters allowed in roblox games?
Just don’t put too much gore. A bit of blood is fine but too much is definetly not.
I think you can portray murder and possibly bullying?
Just don’t do anything too excessive. If other popular games do something then it is probably ok.
But just to be safe you could ask Roblox moderation support.
I’m not planning to have much gore or any at all tbh. Mostly i’m worried about what themes I can explore and how evil I can make my villain. Like can I portray a serial killer that lures people in by offering an incentive and then he kills them by setting them on fire (the game will be about catching said villain)? Can I explore heavier topics like depression/bullying?
I have seen serial killers in many games and they have been fine. Having serial killers which lure you and kill are totally ok. But it depends how you depict the killing. If it just kills them with a genering slash animation or something is totally ok. However if you are going to have a 30 second kill animation which is brutal is not ok.
Not sure about the heavier topics. It really depends. You should ask Roblox moderation support for info as I don’t known. But not sure why would you wan’t to have them in the serial killer game anyways.
I would research and review how villains in children’s media are portrayed (movies, tv shows, books, etc.) They are able to make the villain malicious and scary while staying appropriate for the age group.
