In my last topic, I asked if it was possible to get a roblox game crowdfunded, and the general response was “unless you’re someone with a very large audience, like a popular youtuber, no”. But people also suggested getting people on-board to invest robux, and I have no idea how to get people to do that. Sure, I could get it partially crowdfunded, but without people investing robux, I’m not gonna get very far. How exactly would I go about getting people to invest robux? And how many robux would I need to hire an entire dev/building team? I can give more details if necessary.
Well, there is a thing called Ro-Shark (sorry if im wrong with the name) but this program is where you can find investors for your game if the investors think it is a cool game but they will take some of your games percentage
Discord is a good option for that! If you have a good game (fun, original, etc) you can find some investors!
If you don’t have discord, this game has some investors: Here
To be more specific Ro-Tank is a weekly stream on TheDevKing’s youtube channel where he and a few other investors invest in games. If you want to be in the show there is an application form on TheDevKing’s Youtube Channel
well youre right i kinda forgot what was the name of it so yeah
@real_redfay @Creeperman16487 @EcholexWasTaken right but how do I actually get people to invest, especially without a mic, which stops me from doing discord voice chat or being on a stream, which would I would likely be on through voice chat. I do have discord tho, so I guess I could try hidden devs, though they don’t have an investing channel. I haven’t even looked at school of devs yet, but maybe they have some sort of program or channel to help get people to fund games.
well maybe you could find some discord servers where you can find investors other than that i have no ideas
Funding isn’t exactly a big deal. If your game brings in revenue, put the first revenue you make into a good advertisement, and you should find that you earn more than you invest. In repeating this, you will gradually generate your own funding.
I wouldn’t advise splurging cash on advertisements on your own first game’s launch however, because if someone thing goes wrong, it sets a bad example. Ideally, you would catch the bugs whilst the game doesn’t have many players.
Investing is gambling with robux so it’s against the TOS. You’d have to buy 10000 robux with 100 USD and that’s it.
I second this.
Now I can’t seem to get out of my game’s 65% Like to dislike ratio.
Wasn’t a good idea to use noob players to test my OP cars on them. They just rage quit and left a dislike.
Well I have no coding skills, I’d need the to robux to start hiring a team.
What if I don’t have $100? If I had the cash then I could just go buy the robux, and I wouldn’t have to go through this, but I don’t.
If you have roblox premium, you can save those payouts to pay your team, if not then you will have to buy some. It will take a while, and lots of hard work, but you can make a game for 1-2k robux. I myself have done it before and it wasn’t bad. You just have to find the right people. After your game is complete I recommend trying to find an investor with any of the previous things that people have said. Try to find investors and advertise your game. You will likely end up having to give up to 70 or 80 percent of the game’s income. You will still generate a good sum and be able to make games with no investors, or less investors. The first game is more important than any other game.
One of the easiest ways is to make a fast Tycoon or Obby, there are tons of kits for both that you can easily edit, and monetize, over time those will get some money, just dumb a bit of effort into it and let it work, after a while it will start gaining a bit of profit you can use to make your own game, doing this currently to fund a bigger game.
Then learn to code.
I did.
You can’t expect any meaningful contributions to your game if you have nothing to show for it.
You have to at least have good concept artist skills, and that’s basically impossible to come across on ROBLOX.
You need to have something to show to a skilled developer to say “This is what I’m working on. This is what I intend for it to look like. Looks fun to develop/like a lot of possible profit, right?”.
1-2k? It’s gonna be a big project. It’ll have dogfights, ground battles, probably mechs, maybe tanks, and a simulator aspect too (not gonna give away too many details yet). Besides, how am I supposed to hire people for a game like this with only 1-2k?
@Wertyhappy27 I hate obbies, no chance I’d ever do one not even from a kit. They’re not “real games”. A tycoon game would be a maybe, but I’ probably do 0 updates after I raised enough funds for Fracture, which would tick people off, and it’s not like I could just take it off roblox, bc that would tick people off too, which would leave me in a rather tough position. But I am considering investors.
@ithacaTheEnby I might learn to code at some point, but not right now. I will make a good trailer though, not necessarily using game footage, but it will explain what I want to add, and how it will work. I know exactly what I want for the game too, so it’s not like I’ll be making it up as I go along. What I want right now isn’t something you can currently find on roblox, just because no one has gone ahead and done it.
I have seen many advertisements from people that will work for 50- 500 robux. Usually its not as good as most people, but if you find the right person, you can get pretty decent quality work for a cheap price. You can try creating an advertisement for jobs that 50- 500 robux. I am certain you will find some people willing to work for that much. Sometimes people will work for free even.
Right, but UIs and GUIs cost a lot. Not to mention planes, tanks, mechs, anti-cheats, simulator-aspects, mod panels, maps, custom chat, and many other things I want to add. I can try though.
A good idea would be to do the important things only and then add more stuff in the future. Things like maps, custom chat, and anti cheats are not necessary for the release.
