How far can I go with realism in relation to firearms, blood, etc on Roblox these days?

I have not been active on Roblox in some time, and I recently have began working on a Western game. I planned on having some intricate realism in this game, such as hunting and skinning wild game, blood and gore, and also realistic firearms or other related weapons/combat of the era.

I have barely even began development, when, I uploaded a game icon (literally just a placeholder) of a revolver sitting by a cowboy hat on a stump in the forest. It was moderated almost immediately and I received a warning. I had no idea this was not allowed.

I did research this and it appears, as best as I can understand, that realistic depiction of firearms is okay WITHIN an experience, so long as it is not “too” realistic, aka low-mid poly count andddd ?? I assume the blood and gore must be kept to a minimum too? It appears as though depicting these things in any imagery outside the experience itself is not allowed? I would like to know as it may be difficult to create marketing or media for my experience if I am limited from showing anything related to firearms or gore… I don’t get it either as this has always been on Roblox, and guns far more realistic than the simple game icon I uploaded are on this website as we speak.

I’m mainly making this post to see what anyone else has to say, and because I wonder how far can I go without taking more moderation actions against my account?

Thank you. -rob

Honestly I wish I had a straight answer for you. I am going to focus more on blood. I tried finding a forum dealing with a death effect with blood splatter and the rest because in that forum the decals used for the blood effect actually got taken down. The death effect was good but I wouldnt go as far as to say it was realistic.

But then there are games like:
Slaughter [HORROR] - Roblox

You can watch a quick video on the cutscenes in this game. Its pretty visual and hopefully that can further help you understand the limitations.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply,

I guess it’s just a bit of a gray area but looking at some of the scenes in that game vs the thumbnails visible on the website it’s more clear as to what I could do within the game at least. I’ll just try to be careful what I put as a thumbnail and be sure that it is clear that it is part of the gameplay if I do haha.

Thats a perfect way to describe it :sob:. It is very much a gray area and becareful with uploading decals if you do plan to use something of that sorts. Maybe upload them as a decal on an alt and share access with your main. Reason being is you upload a bunch and they get taken down you might receive bans or warnings of such. I really wish Roblox had a tool to TEST if assets were okay to use or not rather than a warning to a straight ban. Nonetheless I wish you the best of luck!!
