I made this dock as practice for my building journey. Is there anything I could do to make it more realistic?
Imperfection is Key!

I’m not a builder, but I do think this looks great.
Again, I don’t have any knowledge in the subject of building, but as from my view
I think there’s nothing to improve, maybe some details there and here.
Looks good! But I did notice that the planks on the very ends don’t seem to connect with the poles (looks like it’s floating) you should scale the end planks into the poles to make it look like they’re connected.
I like it and I think it looks very good, but as you said you’re looking for ways to make it more realistic.
I suggest using realistic textures and maybe adding holes or cracks here in there in the planks to make it look more natural.
Also maybe adding a little more detail to the supports.
But overall I like what you’ve created and I think you should keep going!
It’s great! Although the planks on the end don’t look too attached on my end. And also, if not already, You can give it a little creativity and make the ropes some kind on constraint?
Yep! It looks a lot better, nice job
Yes it does in my eyes! (30 chars)
I’m not sure how I feel about the white string holding the boards together. I’d replace the white string with just a smaller piece of wood. When you say the word, “Dock” , This is what I imagine:
I’m not sure how I feel about the such large space in between the planks. I’d very much use this picture as reference if I were to build a dock. I suggest changing up the colors a lot, because you asked for feedback for realistic improvement, and so far you made the dock more of a simple, cartoon style.
Agree, usually a dock is a bunch of wood connected and has a very slight hole in between. Also, i’ve never seen a dock held up by string or rope.
