How is this thumbnail I made?

So, I’ve designed a thumbnail for practice too. I want feedback on the thumbnail.
Also please don’t complain about the map because I used a random one for it. I made this just for practice though. :slight_smile:

If you used clockwork shades rather than workclock, it could give some contrast, as right now you can really tell the head apart

Hey!
Looks cool, if this is one of your first GFX’s good job.
What I should do next time is add shadows [It’s called a HDRI], and maybe some more realistic grass.
Not sure if this is made in c4d or blender, but in blender you have an option called ‘‘Auto smooth’’, when you click on the triangle in the menu. With this disabled, you won’t see those black lines you see in the grass now.

I really like the smoothness of the characters, I also really like the clean and simplistic characters that you have chosen for the graphics design, and I like the fact that you have used an HD/realistic sky. A few of my suggestions would be…

  • Try to use a different low poly ground, at the moment it looks like a flat background image
  • Use a lighter colors for both the tree and the ground
  • Remove the workclock shades from the character in the back, it just looks like the character has no eyes

I like the character design, very simple. Some points.

  • If you added maybe some more flora, (trees, bushes, etc)

  • The background sky looks a bit off, like its a bit realistic as if its just been plonked on. I recomend doing a skybox thing in wherever you rendered it.

Lovely job by the way! I will be keeping in touch to see how you have developed.

The render has environment texture called HDRI.

It’s great, you should’ve included the legs of the person on the left to show the momentum/position they’re in from a jump (if that’s what you were trying to achieve).

Secondly, it lacks story, perhaps some text in the top left where there is some space would be nice, and if you do that make sure to have a nice snazzy font that fits the theme and rest of the thumbnail.

Other than those factors, it’s great, I like the renders, the scenery and the lighting especially, very nice sun rays.

I think the shading is a bit off, and the tree doesn’t have any ambient occlusion as well as shadows. And on the guy with the valkyrie, it seems like the guy doesn’t have eyes because of the shades and the lighting.

Other than that, really nice!
