How large should a map be for a round-based game?

So basically most of my round-based game’s maps are going to be around 512x512, some large ones are gonna be 1024x1024. The largest map is going to be more than 2048x2048(The only map to be in that size).

What is your opinion on size of maps of round-based games?

I’d say 2048 by 2048 is way too big, imo round games should have
small - medium sized maps. Big maps can be intimidating and or annoying if the map is switching every 2 minutes.

Well, I think that the size of the map should also depend on the time of the round, as if you have a big map and a short time, people aren’t going to be able to move around the map that much. It also depends on the number of players, as the whole round people aren’t going to find each other. So, I would recommend doing small to medium sized maps

Yeah, well most rounds are gonna last 3 minutes max, with large maps its gonna be 5 minutes.
With that big map its gonna last up to 10 minutes… But that depends if any of the teams have won against the others.

How many players in each round?

The game can get as much as 15 players for each round, big maps are not going to be selected if the number of players is less than 8.

Whats the point of the game? What do you do every round?

This depends on the :

Player Count,
Style of Game.

Personally I think if the game isn’t dependent on the game being finished in a certain amount of time, and the players are rewarded for finishing earlier then keep it at a medium size.
