How long shall I make my Game day be in Relation to IRL Time

So I’m making a Roleplay game and I have observed many other RP games some have really long in Game days like 20-30 Minutes some might have 10 Minutes but most FP games have long In Game days.

So the question is how long should my Game Day(24Hours in Game) be?

My plan was about 10 Minutes and then it changed to 20 Minutes, but I need more opinions on this.

Here's some info about what my game will be

It’s a High School Game and this is the current Schedule

Schedule

24 In Game Time = X Real Life Minutes (We are trying to figure out how long X should be)

Fast Time 21.00 PM - 6.00 AM – Time will past by faster in game and take less IRL time

Slow Time 6.00 AM - 21.00 PM-- Time will past by slower in game and take more IRL time

School Time 8.30 AM - 16.00 PM
- Home Room 8.35 AM - 9.00 AM – It’s just for Players to get to class before it Starts
- Period 1 9.05 AM - 11.55 AM (English or Math or Computer or Science)
- Lunch 12.00 PM - 13.00 PM
- Period 2 13.05 PM - 14.00 PM (Swimming or Running or Drama)
- Period 3 14.05 PM - 16.00 PM (Secret)

Night Activities 16.00 PM - 20.00PM (Dance Club or Camping or Beach) & Dinner
21.00 PM (Sleep) – Maybe later than 21PM?

  1. I just want to know about your Experience & what you guys think/feel like how long my Game Day should be in Relation to IRL Time.

  2. How long should each Activity be in Relation to IRL Time.

Tbh people like day time more so i usually make it around 20 minutes. And one minute is an hour but nighttime goes faster

That’s make sense I guess most activities can last about 5 Minutes or more and some less especially at night.

1 Minute = 1 Hour isn’t bad at all.

GTA V does one minute is one hour and it’s a very easy conversion rate + is the right amount of time to not be awful but also not be so fast you get nothing done. But when you consider in a school game that a class is typically an hour or two it’s hard to do a lot in only a minute or two

Making Time Slower or Faster isn’t really an issue because I am willing to adjust for it.

I am working on a Dynamic Day Cycle Script where Time can go Faster or Slower based on the current Activity.

In other words 8 hours (Sleep time) could be just 1 IRL Minute when 1 hour of class is 5 IRL Minutes.
