This has been a question for me that I’ve been struggling with lately. While making my game, I’m contemplating how loud my game should be. I join different games and the sounds would be louder than my game, or quieter. I just don’t know what relative volume I should compare all my sounds to.

Remember, the players can always adjust their volume if they think your game is too quiet or loud.
Just make sure the the sounds in your game are the right volume relative to each other. For example, gun shots should be far louder than footsteps. As long as you do this, it doesn’t matter too much for the reason above.
