How memory intensive are particles (do they cause lag)

Sorry, I am not sure if this is the correct topic to put this. But, I was wondering how memory intensive particles are, like, say you have a wizard wand and whenever it hits something particle pops up, like some smoke or something. Say there are 10 players, and everyone can shoot 10 bullets a second should you show the particles only on client side or the server also, like, can lower end PCes (e.g. phones also) and people with bad internet play it then?

Thanks.

Roblox automatically show less particles on lower end software but it shouldn’t be a problem unless you really stretch the particle count.
Also I don’t think particles render at a certain distance.

TL:DR It shouldn’t be a problem meaning it shouldn’t cause lag.
