How much content should I release a game with?

I’ve been working on a game for a while now, it’s a round based game with multiple maps, a shop system and all the things those games usually have.

But I’ve been wondering how much content should I release the game with, I notice that a lot of games don’t release completely to be able to bring in more players with updates. I was thinking 1-2 maps and not many things to be able to buy starting off, but I’m not sure what to do.

I like to get players to play for around 1 hour until they leave, so try to see if a player will play for that long with how much content you decide to have for release. Do keep in mind that the more players there are, the longer people will play. Roblox is more fun with other people, even if there isn’t a whole lot of content. If you don’t add a ton of content on release, make sure to add consistent updates or your game will end up dying. (I learned this the hard way.) Hope this helps!

It may help your game be more popular if you release it with less content at the start, but slowly add more content. Less content at the start might mean more hype with future updates.

enough for the game to not get repetitive quick. I can’t really tell you the minor details since I don’t know what the game is about or anything but as long as the player can still try something new after hours of playing then it’s good
