Recently I have thought about how much ad spending would cost on games.
Personally I have a small experience with ad spending.
I do however know many people ignore ads and use AdBlock to suppress them.
Knowing this, I am curious about much an upcoming game would have to spend on ad revenue to have it pushed out there.
This meaning the game would have at least 100-200 concurrent players.
Yes, I do know it depends on age audience but what would be the average amount usually.
Let me know your thoughts.
I don’t have any personal experience with this yet, but in preparation for my own game’s release I’ve asked numerous people this question. Recently I talked to someone who spends around 10k robux daily on sponsors. Sponsorship wasn’t working very well for the first while, but with the new system it seems to be better and they’ve recently hit 140k+ visits and roughly 150-200 concurrent players. Another person I talked to a while back used ads, but they spent around 2 million robux over the course of probably a month. This resulted in around 10 million visits at the time. I just checked back on the game and it’s got 15 million visits now, but idk how much they’ve spent since then (Also 500 concurrent). The average person I’ve talked to recommends at least 10-25k per day; more if possible.
That’s a pretty high amount per day, thanks for your info.
It depends how many players you want. You can probably stay in the double digits for a couple thousand robux a day, and if your game is good you won’t need to be constantly advertising to keep a concurrent playerbase.
Placing 20,000 robux on an ad gives you 3,104,008 estimated impressions.
If the ad has a 1% CTR, that’s 31,040 clicks. I’m not sure how many people who click the ad play the game; I guess it would depend on the thumbnail quality. I’m just going to guess and say 80% of people who click the ad play the game, so 24,832 people will play because of the ad. How many concurrent players you will have depends on the average visit length.
