Hey guys, someone is trying to get me to make them a shop script as a commision and asked for the price. I will be scripting and be paid when I am done. How much should I charge?
I will be making a script that manages building, shop customization, inventory, and selling items. They want to sell people’s UGC items in shops that are automatically spawned when they are both offline and online. when they are offline, their shop will be picked randomly from everyone else to fill unoccupied plots. I will be responsible for saving data, managing inventory, preventing exploiting, building objects, rotation, back and forward button, selling, buying, managing sales, loading items, floor customization, wallpaper customization, color theme customization, an “exterior/interior” system for the shop
So considering all that, how much is a good commisin price to script all that? I can say it will take a few months minimum if I grind everyday.

I would say 50k is the bare minimum, since you’re really doing alot.
You must also take in account the time it will take for you to finish the project and adjust your price offering based on that.
Thank you for the suggestion. I agree that a price like 50k is better.
One thing to note is that they already have the building GUI, but I havent seen any models. The GUI also needs work because it is missing a lot of elements, so I would also have to be managing models, GUI, and photos

In that case, I would raise the price for the comission up to 60k
I might ask to make it into simplier tasks rather than doing the whole thing to ensure that I dont do all that work just to never get paid and also give me more freedom

Ask for a part of the agreed payment upfront. That way, you can ensure that you dont get scammed.
When the work is done, only send over the work once the rest of the agreed payment has arrived.
If they don’t want to pay, don’t worry; you can still sell your assets somewhere, and since they still belong to you, the person technically can’t do anything about it.
Also:
If they pay you through t-shirts/clothing/etc., ask them to make up for the 30% revenue split.
