How should I monetize my 2 player obby?

Hey! Lately, I’ve seen many 2 player obbies pop up in my home recommendations tab. I thought of making one. How could I monetize it? Do these 2 player obby games make a lot, even though they’re obbies? If so, how do they achieve it?

Not asking for specific numbers here, since I know these are hard to obtain, just a rough estimate.

Regarding sponsorships: I’ve had some past experience with them, but never successful ones. How much is enough to get a game on the algorithm? How much should I spend over how many days?

These games are monetized aggressively, and I despise seeing this slop continued to be produced en mass. That being said, the monetisation they use is usually game passes or dev products for mobility gears or “trolling menus”.

But please reconsider making something better. You might make a bit extra money, but you won’t exactly be looked upon favourably on the dev forum, ergo Preston.

I understand your concerns, but I want to try something new. I’ve made a bunch of past games before that were in no way cashgrabs but games like open-world rpgs, battlegrounds, etc., and while I’ve done cashgrabs before, I haven’t ever gotten to the part where I release my normal games that I mentioned, while in the cashgrab ones, that have a much faster development time required, are usually released.

My plan is simple, and probably similar to those of other upcoming roblox developers: make a cashgrab game, get money, get a studio and make actual games. I don’t think I’d be able to make real games unless I have enough robux in the first place.
