How should I release my game so it has eager players on startup?

like, should I be making readit posts about my game? How do I get my game noticed before release?

you should upload devlogs on social media and for sure you can post about it on reddit and facebook

teaser trailers, trailers. let the community know the release date and some entertaining gameplay footage and yes devlogs like krant said.

so people can steal ideas? I’m superstitious about that kind of thing

this is not a big problem because when you make a devlog about a new feature or a new map it is already hard to steal it because you already made it

ya, i guess, but i’m just one guy, in the time it takes to make some unique thing, it would only take some brainrot studio to copy it in like 1/7th the time

teams mostly will not look at small projects done by small indie developers , i do not mean any thing bad , i am also an indie developer

professionals will look for outliers like the “wait in line for bathroom simulator” ,that’s why there was a million other copies

If someone does make the idea, then bring up your vid. This should be enough evidence to say they stole your idea. Just do trailers.

true but if a bigger/more popular team steals ur game and gets more players you literally cant do anything. i’d say release the devolgs once the game is in beta and just try and entice (small-ish) influencers to make early access videos.

this may not be possible with some games but its at least a start lol
