Hey there! I have been working a lot for the shop in my simulator game. I realized that my game is way too easy to finish. So I am creating rebirths that will also give you boosts, (boosts to be determined). And of course you lose all your items you bought.
How my game works:
It is a speed simulator type game. Players move around to earn steps while constantly increasing speed. You can get more steps by grabbing orbs all around the map. Points is the main form of currency for buying stuff. You can get them by winning races, or by converting your steps into points. Xp is how you level up, it requires you to move around, but it can’t be boosted by orbs like with steps.
The current layout all my shop stuff:
I have a bunch of shop stuff, trails, animations, and pets, which can be bought with points. Steps, Points, and Bundles can only be bought with robux. Pets will give you boosts, like 50 steps every 10 seconds, or something like that. Trails and animations are purely for cosmetics. Steps and Points give the player more currency. Bundles give players a combination of a pet, animation, and a trail.
Changes that need to be made!:
I believe I need to change how my stuff works, to work for the rebirths, so I have a couple different options and pathways I can take and I want to see which one you think are the best.
Cosmetic-only items should be changed:
I was thinking, since you lose all your stuff when you rebirth, the trails and the animation would be pointless to buy, since it doesn’t help you at all. The pets already give boosts: steps, points and xp, so I was thinking of distributing it across the three items, trails give you points, animations give you xp, and pets give you steps.
- Give all items boosts
- Give the pets the boosts, and leave the cosmetics as they are

Bigger incentive to buy:
You might still not have an incentive to buy the items, and it would make buying more points and steps a huge disincentive as well. So I would also add that when you buy an item, the cost of rebirthing would decrease by a percentage(a higher and a smaller percentage for a bigger and a smaller item, respectively. This is also where bundles would come in, if you buy them (for a considerably amount of robux) I could have players keep the items in the bundles forever, no matter if they rebirth or not.

Loot Boxes
I am also thinking of having loot boxes be a part of my game (don’t worry, I’ll make sure to display all the possible items and their percent chances). You would be able to buy it with points. Now I could make the items in the loot boxes different (to be determined) items that haven’t been mentioned in this topic to be in the loot, it could be the pets, trails, and animations, it could only be only cosmetic items, or only boosters. If it is cosmetic items, I could use the trails and animations(not giving them boosts of course), or I could think up another kind of cosmetic.
