Hey everyone,
I’m working on a UGC item for Roblox and I’ve been using Blender’s particle system to create fuzzy/spiky fur effects for a beanie. However, when I import the model into Roblox Studio, the particle effects don’t show up.
I’ve researched and found that the particle system doesn’t transfer over when importing the model into Roblox Studio, but I’m wondering if there’s a workaround or a different approach I can use to achieve similar results.
Has anyone else encountered this issue or know of a way to get particle-like effects into UGC items? Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!
have you looked at the existing fuzzy ugc? maybe start there… I think the answer varies depending on the exact look you are going for.
Sadly, there isnt a way to transfer blender’s hair particle system to roblox.
However, you could try sculpting the fur using custom brushes in blender’s Sculpt mode. Just make sure to select the brush’s color space to non-color and change its mapping to area plane, aswell as the stroke method to anchored.
Another way is to select edge loops of your model, use checker deselect and then scale and rotate them to create spikes.
Then just randomize vertices.
This is a more low-poly way to make fur.
Hope these methods will help you, just make sure to keep an eye on the tris count.
Thank you so much, I’ll definitely check it out this weekend, Appreciate the help ![]()
