How to achieve outlines on meshes?

Ive always wondered how roblox does this dope outline effect:

Does anyone know how this is done? It would be really cool to implement it into some games

The creator (@maplestick) can probably explain it.

If I had to take a guess, it’s a torus with a circle ontop cut out to create a border effect.

Duplicate the object, scale it up, flip the normals, and change the color.

Do i export it as a fbx or obj?

I think either works, but I would use fbx.

alright thanks, but i import it and the color didn’t changed, is there any way to fix this.
I changed the material properties/Base Color to black

Mesh with a negative size does the trick.

Try exporting the outline and part separately.
