So I wanted to create a sun, the only thing that it’s missing is the lens flare effect.
Any kind of help is appreciated.
Roblox’s default lighting’s suns have sunrays by default; you should definitely read this page that teaches u about lightings :).
I may have been unclear so here is an image of what I’m trying to achieve:
I’m trying to add this effect to a ball.
you can’t. only able to put it on lighting, unless you use surfacegui but it isnt dynamic.
Solution 1: Use particle emitter + lock to part + set rotation and speed and acceleration to zero. Cons: The sunray gets blocked by parts which is funny
Solution 2: Do a bunch of GUI calculations that project the glowy part’s position into 2d space on ur funny screen and then add GUI object that has sunray effect to that funny position. Cons: too complicated and annoying
Also correction of ur vocabulary: I think u are refering to “lens flares” not “sunrays”
I’m pretty sure op is refering to lens flares :).
Yeah I meant that (30chararararraraa)
Even so, surface gui is also an option
he meant lens flares but he couldn’t find the word for it T-T
Also I believe I have seen people making dynamic sunray effects using beams + raycast but its quite complicated u can try search it urself since I’m lazy to explain
I searched lens flare on the toolbox and I got what I’m looking for :DDDD
