How to animate an OBJECT and a RIG in blender?

Hello! Over the past hour or so, I’ve been trying to animate a player on the boat using Moon Animator, Blender, and the updated version of Rblx Animation Importer (someone fixed the old one and updated it for newer blender versions; can’t find the link to the devfourm post).

Whenever I’m animating just the player, it’s very nice and easy to use. However, when I try to add the boat to the rig in roblox, which is an object, after going through all these weird rigging processes from oldish videos, it just doesn’t work. Whenever I’d export the custom rig and rebuild it, all the bones would appear, but the one for the boat just wouldn’t move the boat when you moved it. After I re-rigged it in blender so it would, whenever I imported it back to roblox, it would either load the boat animation or the player model animation separately. I thought I could export them separately so I could play the two together, but I had no clue what caused it to switch from boat animation to player animation; thus, I couldn’t export them both.

If anyone has a simple tutorial or explanation on how to do this without all these complications, please explain if you can. Thank you!

Hi, I dont know really rn however I believe we might have to make whatever we want to move as a humanoid

Ok so it seems that most of the tool animators just add the object to the rig like you said.

you also said that you were having trouble with this? Were the bones for the boat connected in any way to the original rig? I think roblox has this feature where if the bones aren’t connected to the root bone, ie. just floating with no hierarchy , it deletes them.

you could animate them separately and then use a scrip to play them at the same time.
