How to be motivated when scripting

Hello fellow developers!

I have just started to practice scripting and it’s really hard to stay motivated while scripting. I am wondering, how do you scripters stay motivated while scripting? Please tell me a way, how to stay motivated, thanks!

Already, do not force yourself, must love what you do and because otherwise you will not want to continue

And, Scripting Support for that is not a good Section but okay

Well here’s a tip that I find useful

If you get frustrated about an error or problem, take a break. Sit down away from the computer, or even take some sleep and leave the problem for tomorrow. Clear your mind with a break, short or long, and the solution to the problem will come to you by itself.

I’m serious about this. This method has worked for me about amost always. Getting up for a walk around the room would always rejuvenate my mind. Sometimes I even take breaks for a few days when I get frustrated on big projects. I even recall once when the solution to an error came to me when I was doing a number two

EDIT:
I also found a article on motivation that could help.

One way I stay motivated is by thinking my scripts have a family drama like
Why you be all up in here aren’t you suppose be under server-script-service
Or just listen to music

(Looks like the problem was solved but this is more of a discussion so I’ll keep on writing) Hi! So if you do not enjoy scripting at all, you should not start it and perhaps wait for a time where you would want to pick it up. But if you are interested but just don’t know where to start, that’s fine! For me personally I don’t spend much time idling in front of the computer and scripting, I like to just sit on my bed and think of possible scripts and projects to start. Sometimes I don’t think of anything, so I just carry on with my daily routine; but when I do think of something, I would get on my computer and start scripting. I also keep my browser open so I can search forums for help when necessary. I think the most important thing is to only script when you are already motivated to accomplish something.

For me, I found that when you start scripting it’s always boring at the start. You are usually de-motivated for 2-3 weeks at the start but then after that, Once you get into more advanced stuff you end up becoming more fluent with lua, Which in turn will make coding less frustrating which leads to less de-motivation.

Just push through the first weeks. And after that, you will start being motivated and enjoying scripting.

also @JinxFury18 's Reply works really great aswell. Ideas on how to fix errors can come at the most random of times. So if you ever feel frustrated, take a break and walk around. It will come to you.

Okay, I will keep that in mind. When I have getting little into more advance stuff now, I have gotten a little more motivation than before.

One important tip is you need to have a mindset of programming takes time, a certain part of code can not be done in a day. It can take up to few days. With that in mind, you won’t get frustrated when countering code failure.

As mentioned by above, taking a break is also a good option when you can’t solve a problem, just leave your computer and come back with a better mindset. Seek for help if necessary.
