If anyone knows how to bend parts, please reply. I want to try to bend this part so I can make it look like arms. To anyone wondering, it’s a robot I’m making. Thanks!
As far as I’m aware, you can either split the arm into two pieces, angle each differently and use gapfill to fill in the joint between the two parts, or you could use blender to use a bevel + cuts to bend the piece smoothly.
There might be a plugin for bending parts, just not one that I’m aware of.
Took me 20-30 minutes but I tried.
Edit: Ignore the image. I used brick instead of cylinder since I can’t gapfill cylinder a part. Thanks for your help.
This plugin should do the trick.
Once installed select the ‘terrain’ option and just click any part to curve it. This video will explain it all.
I still can’t see the plugin. I even clicked terrain editor and I can’t find it.
To my knowledge there is no way to actually deform any of the parts in roblox studio, so i’d suggest using an external software. Here is how you could go about it in blender.
Step 1
- Shift + a + mesh + cylinder
Step 2
- Loopcut the cylinder in the middle
Step 3
- Select the top half of the cylinder
Step 4
- Rotate the top half of the cylinder on the X axis (Press R for rotate)
Now you should have the result that you are looking for! If not feel free to ask for help.
Good luck!
Try using Archimedes 2.0. It’s easily available in the plugin ribbon at the top of Studio once downloading. Here is the OFFICIAL one. Archimedes (v3.1.9) - Roblox
I downloaded the plugin and I didn’t know how to fill the gap for the cylinders. Any ideas?
Edit: Wait I just read the description and I found out. Ignore what I said.
