How to create Yutapon cubes

I am trying to create something called Yutapon cubes like in the video linked below. I was just wondering how I could create this without doing very laggy things like building a whole map out of small parts.

I would prefer if you had any ways of creating this that’s nimble and flexible. Here’s what I have so far but I don’t really like it.


If this isnt art design can you please tell me so I can swap it? Although I believe this should be art design since people put their VFX effects on it.

What exactly do you want? The textures, the animation?

I just want the overall feeling of the Yutapon cubes surrounding the attack and then exploding outwards.

For the textures I can just add a ray cast to get the material and color of the part below it.

It looks like the cubes in the animation are caused by two steps.

  1. The fracturing of the ground.

  2. A force pushing them upwards.

Your version of the cubes has the cubes suddenly appearing above the ground and moving outwards. I think you can fix this by having the cubes start on the inside or below the surface.

Prob also slow down the explosion of the cubes, so u can visualize them expanding , and see the effect more
