Hello, the lights where I marked in the picture are unnecessary, is there a way to delete them? I just want to illuminate the sign.
I don’t think you can make the light ignore other parts.
Put a Part with a SurfaceLight in it, the same size as the picture, but about 4-5 studs away and directly facing the subject.
Change the Angle of the SurfaceLight to 0 so it doesn’t spread out.
Make the Distance of the SurfaceLight just far enough to light up the subject.
You may have to do a bit of fine tuning to the distance the SurfaceLight is from the subject, as well as the Light’s Distance to get the desired effect.
That’s actually clever! I wouldn’t have thought of using SurfaceLight!
Why isn’t the bottom white line aligned to the bottom right corner of the target?
Try moving the light part2 Part around (using all 6 directions) to see if that lights up your target.
What do you mean by white line? And what does 6 directions mean? Sorry, I know very little about building.
Ok.
In your picture you have 1 white line from the middle of your SurfaceLight which points the direction the Light is pointing.
There are 4 corner lines. If you change the Angle Property you’ll see the lines fan out to show the extents of what the Light illuminates. The white line extending from all 4 corners of the Light need to be aligned with the 4 corners of the Part you want lit up. Just imagine the Light as a flashlight with 4 white lasers at the corners pointing where the light’s pattern edges are.
If you move the Part that has the Light in it you should be able to aim it at the subject (the picture)and get the 4 laser lines pointing directly at the 4 corners of the subject. All 6 directions means forward, backward, up, down, left and right.
You now have them aligned at the exact same position, right? That’s not what I said.
MOVE the light block back and forth so the light beam is pointing at the target.
Make the light range reach or just go past the surface so it illuminates your Part, just like a flashlight would, but with a direct beam.
Here’s a video

Why not working for me? Please can you give the rbxl file of the model in the video?

What exactly is the target anyway, a Decal, a SurfaceGui, or a Texture?
- I used a Decal on a Part in my example, and my Lighting Technology property is set to Future.
- My SurfaceLight Brightness was only 1.
- The range was 6.
- The Parts were both 6 x 6 x 0.2 studs.
Oh my lighting technology shadowmap, i changed now, fixed. Thanks.
