I was reading posts and found out that many features are disabled when you run Roblox Studio in OpenGL mode. I also noticed that many of said features don’t work for me in Roblox Studio hence I am most probably running it in OpenGL mode. How would I run Roblox Studio without OpenGL mode enabled?
What OS do you have? Have you tried Vulkan and do you think Direct3D11 works better?
Can you tell me what GPU and CPU you have aswell please. I just want the best performance tbh
Also, how do you change the graphics mode in Roblox Player
You should just set it to Automatic, and let Roblox decide what works best for your system.
Roblox Player uses Automatic internally, though you can see which one it picks in the Shift+F2 menu.
Actually, Vulkan is generally considered to be faster than the other options because it gives more control over the graphics card, but that’s the consensus in the wider gaming market, I don’t think anybody has run extensive benchmarks for Roblox.
Direct3D11 is usually faster than Vulkan and should be compatible with more graphics cards, I also don’t think you can change the graphics mode in the Roblox Player and it’s always automatic. If Roblox is automatically setting the graphics mode to OpenGL it’s probably because your graphics card isn’t good enough.
What kind of NVIDIA card? I have an MX330, a laptop card, that struggles to run a lot of higher-quality games, but even my card does not cause Roblox to run in OpenGL by itself. I don’t think it’s even possible unless you use a mobile device.
That’s a common problem in rendering in general. The most widespread way to fix it is with “VSync”, which practically all graphics cards support at the hardware level. Not an issue specific to Vulkan, run any game with VSync disabled and, with low FPS, screen tearing is obvious even if it isn’t running on Vulkan.
