So I’m trying to create a terrain for my game and I don’t want to use smooth terrain because it won’t fit the general theme of the maps. I find that making low-poly terrain manually is a slow and imperfect process, and I’m looking for tips, plugins, useful tools or anything that might help.
To get a better idea of what I’m trying to achieve, check out the terrain in any map in Blood & Iron by CoderQwerty.
Thank you for the reply!
Also, I noticed that when using the gap fill plugin for triangles, it creates a lot of unnecessary parts that could be made up of a single wedge. I might be wrong though.
Low poly is actually VERY easy to do. Me even being a Scripter/Artist was able to make some nice low poly designs! All you have to do is just use smooth plastic. If you combine a brown cube and a green part the size of a half cube you can make it look just like a grass block! Also with low poly keep it simple and add little designs that can make a difference!
I’m assuming your referring to triangle terrain, the example shown above seems like it was made with a plugin rather then alternative software. Just for future noticed consider using the search function as this has been asked before.
If you’re looking for triangle plugins or something similar to that using blender can achieve a similar look to with using mesh parts it’ll achieve those triangle looks. A better approach would be using the (Atrazine’s Terrain Plugin) I’ll try experimenting with it a bit and learning how to use the tools and placing nodes so you could get used and comfortable with it to be able to produce a decent terrain design your wanting to achieve.
