All my devices are good enough to run roblox efficiently or are too old to literally install roblox , how can I emulate a low end device so I know when its too slow
Well, are you looking at any means necessary?
You can emulate low frame rates by limiting the amount of frames that Roblox Studio can create via your GPU’s driver settings. On NVIDIA GPUs, go to the NVIDIA control panel > 3D Settings > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings, then select Roblox Studio > Max Frame Rate.
To emulate a device, open Device Emulator on Roblox Studio. You can also emulate mobile devices here.
To emulate high ping, go to File > Studio Settings > Network > Incoming Replication Lag. Set this to a high value for higher ping.
To emulate a device strength more realistically in your desktop, you could just limit your CPU’s clock speed in windows power settings and limit your GPU’s clock speed in MSI Afterburner. These can be reverted. Be careful on these though, as these modifications could damage your hardware.
- you should optimally always test on the client application, studio tests do not speak well for game performance. (differing results… like really different)
- how would limiting clock speed cause issues? also, if its really bad, just go to `Task Manager → Details → ROBLOX Client App/Studio or whatever → Right Click → Set Priority → Low (tells the system to focus less CPU and memory resources on whatever you’re setting)
- One of the biggest issues on ROBLOX running for older devices is RAM use. i think its self explanatory but roblox PC uses vastly more memory than mobile, so ensure you’re appropriately testing.
i use a really bad old chinese phone to test
It would be best if OP just use this plugin than going to nvidia control panel and doing all sorts of stuff.
