How To Enable Wind Properties For Grass & Clouds

Hey Developers,

Recently, I stumbled across a Twitter post showing off a few new flags in CloneTrooper1019’s mod manager. These flags enable wind properties for grass and clouds. After enabling the 2 flags needed, I was disappointed to learn the wind properties do not affect particles or unanchored parts.

How To Enable Wind Properties

  • Download CloneTrooper1019’s mod manager. You may need to disable any antivirus software. This does not have a virus, antiviruses just think it is.

  • Open up the mod manager, and change the studio branch region to sitetest1.robloxlabs.

  • Press, “Edit Fast Flags.” In the search bar, search, “GlobalWind.” 2 flags should come up. Select one and press, “Override Selected.” After that, do the same process but for the other flag.

  • Exit out of the fast flags editor and press, “Launch Studio.”

How To Use Wind Properties

You can tinker around with the wind properties by opening the properties for workspace. Under “behavior” you should find the “GlobalWind” property as a Vector3. You can edit the Vector3 value to change how strong the wind is, and in which direction it goes in.

This is cool, I’m definitely going to use this, it will make my game a lot more immersive! I honestly didnt think that the video was roblox for a sec.

There is now a workspace.globalwind but it doesn’t seem to do anything just yet, this update is coming very soon

Does it appear when it’s actually published to roblox or does it only work for the creator in studio testing

Does this work in game, or is it just a studio thing? Can someone test this out?

Ok, I tested it out and unfortunately it’s just a studio thing currently. This will not appear in game.
