How to fill up these walls with detail?

Hey guys, I dunno where to start this- I’ve got builders block. I just cannot seem to build anything today. I made these walls, and you can see I’ve adorned them with a simple line down the bottom. Other than that, I have no idea what detail I can add to it. The building is a sci fi cafe btw.

Thanks!

You should move this to #help-and-feedback:building-support (ㄒ-ㄒ)

Anyways, advice time: What type of room is it? What look are you going for? Then I can provide better feedback.

Sorry bout that. It’s a cafe, a casual sci fi room. Soon it’ll be filled with couches and stuff. I’m going for a sci fi look, heres the exterior

What’s the room’s purpose? If there’s a specific use then there will be recommended things to put. Or is it just… a room?

Thats where you casually sit to eat, and order food.

If it’s a room for eating, then maybe try adding posters, or a menu. Maybe even the shop’s logo. But you can always stack things up against the wall, too. Or make it more detailed, in general. Right now it’s just a plain blank wall. Maybe a painting?

Consider adding a lamp against the wall, some cabinets, a stand with a pot of flowers, a long, bar-like table that stretches across the entire width of the room, maybe even another window?
Maybe add shelves, objects like a broom against the wall.

General stuff like stripes, a pattern, a “wallpaper” that isn’t flat white, texture, tiny tiles, columns on every corner, lights coming out the wall. Maybe a grid like pattern?

Maybe even an air conditioner? A fan? You can easily search up “How to Decorate a Wall” on a search engine and get inspiration.

The sky’s the limit. :cloud:

Hope this helped- (≧∇≦)/

While it’s a good looking design you manage to capture the Sc-fi theme overall I feel like the flooring of the place doesn’t match with the setting, but could be changed to something more sci-fi usually hold black and white curved flooring for cafes or restaurants feature a sci-fi floor like curved pattern floor. Since you don’t have that design in the building consider adding big chairs, white squared tables have a whiter color so it doesn’t look plain or the same as the floor.

Make the colors - materials pop, on the building in a unique way and it has a very great theme that you’re trying to achieve.

Like in this image below I’m pretty sure this is a restaurant and a cafe together, but you could see it holds those few details on the walls like the flooring curves hanging ceiling light pipes like certain cafes have picture frames, windows maybe that’ll improve your walls all the way. Other than that, it’s definitely a good start.

Hi, is it “sci-fi” or is it more futuristic and space-related? I ask because I notice it’s called “Galactic cafe” and sci-fi is an incredibly broad term.

Sci fi stuff. I’m not sure what kind of stuff as its not too specific but like sci fi guns, posters etc. just look up sci fi objects and you can pretty much use that as inspiration haha

As you start to fill up the room with furniture the room will look less empty and there won’t be any need to add detail to the walls. If you still really want to give the walls more detail here are a few suggestions:

Wallpaper
Pictures/paintings (could do drawing too)
Clock
Shelves
Television

Sometimes a simple texture works. Some good thing to cover up walls are paintings, cabinets, and almost any form of furniture.

A bookcase, small table and some armchairs to fill up the room.

Consider putting paintings on the wall to make it feel more abundant in colour.
