I need to find out, what a persons gender is so I can give them the womans torso, is that possible?

i’m pretty sure it’s not against tos unless i’m forgetting something. Anyways, roblox does not have a way to detect gender, since they consider that personal information (Is it possible to view player's gender? - #2 by snowingwings220)
Edit: after reading the replies more, it looks like it might be a violation of PII (personally identifiable information), so you shouldn’t ask for this information either. You might just have to scrap your concept

Maybe it could be, instead of asking people for their gender, you make them chose an “avatar”

You are not able to ask the player what gender they are, but what you can do is make them pick between the options for the gender that their character can become.
E.g. have a character creator with a pick between a male (1.0 torso) or female (girl torso).

You’re not allowed to. Roblox considers it as personal information.

Just have them choose between ‘body A’ and ‘body B’.

You cannot access that setting on their account.
Best to just have them select it in game anyway because many people just select a random gender/no gender when making an account.

This is the best way, and how you should ask about customization options in general. The questions should be about the character, not the player.
He doesn’t provide any source for this, and it seems to just be a blind statement. If anyone has a link I would be grateful, but I’ve researched this topic for over a week straight with no sight of it.
There’s a lot of statements regarding “PII” but nowhere on the Roblox Terms of Service does it state that, so I’d love to know.
I think that it’s safe to say there’s no problem with prompting a blue and pink square, it’s just an avatar after all.
AFAIK, you can’t find the user’s gender (the option they selected when signing up.) The nearest thing you can do is implement your own gender selection system, and make a variable out of it if the player selected Male or Female.
hey man, unfortunately you can’t check the gender of the players due to roblox TOS and all that. GDPR or whatever it is id say.
what u can do is tho i see in a lot of games; if ur game has male/female orientated outfits/characters u can make them choose an option. 
I don’t think this is possible, instead, ask them to choose their gender, like most roleplay games or just games in general do.
I’d love a source for this, I cannot find anything in the terms of service regarding it being against the terms of service.

well what i mean is like u cant ACTUALLY check the players account gender yk. u can make them choose a gender but other than that yeah. i think i misworded it mb. i was meant to add onto that

If you’re asking this question in the context of the user’s account information, then no, you can’t find out what they set their gender to be on their account. Regardless, it’s quite unnecessary and controversial to require a person’s gender, unless it’s so you can refer to them correctly in-game.
Make them a certain avatar type by default. They can then choose in-game through some sort of settings menu to be a woman.
