How to fix Mesh becoming Reflective?

I’m trying to understand how whenever I import my model (as an FBX) into studio the color (or material) changes to become reflective/a strange grey?

I used SmoothPlastic, but Plastic (or any material) doesn’t change the problem. This never happened before, but suddenly it started becoming reflective.

Could you try recalculating the normals? It looks like a shading problem. Also if possible, could you provide the FBX?

The normals are all good, I recalculated it again and nothing changed. Here are the arms. (The problem is on the right).

I’ll take a look at the mesh and get back to you

It looks like you have no Texture on that MeshPart, so if it’s the standard SmoothPlastic Medium Stone Grey material it will end up reflective just like a Part is.

none of the items have a texture, i believe its supposed to stay grey, but some of the pieces are VERY EXCESSIVELY reflective.

I made the entire model Smooth Plastic I’m sure, i’m confused how only one side got the reflective property and not the whole model itself. Only the Right Upper Arm > Right Hand, Right Upper Leg > Right Foot, and the Left Lower Leg > Left Foot have this issue too.

I’m unsure because the standard (default) color is on it, but it reflects on itself. If I color it to skintone colors it mimics the same properties + if I change each color separately it won’t change either.

  • on any official roblox model smooth plastic doesnt effect it

What if you import it as an .obj file instead of .fbx?

When I make it an object and import it as a package it shrinks to a miniature size + removes the rigging I did in blender. Butttt, it did remove the issue where it turns reflective.

So double check that you don’t have Textures added onto those items in Blender. Did you mirror or symmetrize the body parts and those that had the Texture got messed up?
When you export items from Roblox to Blender if you have Textures on them it copies that to the Blender file.
I usually delete all the Textures in Blender before I export them back into Studio.

I just checked and I deleted all the materials, there’s nothing on it or textures pretty sure. I put it into a new file and exported it over and the same thing happened.

Could you provide the blend file or fbx? The marketplace link you provided seems to be broken now

It should work now, but here’s the FBX!!
