Hello. Hope whoever is receiving this is well. So recently I’ve been building an old factory. I’m trying to give it the feel of a British industrial age sorta feel but a bit more run down. However, I have no idea what to change or do with it. I’ve gone through a few ideas but none have worked. So, I was hoping somebody could help out with some ideas on what to add/change. Also, please ignore the roof. I already know what I plan on doing with that.

Hello there. Your “old factory” model really looks nice, but there is for sure some room for improvement. I have a couple of suggestions :
First of all, maybe you can start by adding a short sized building next to it, as maybe a storage room or something as it would definitely improve the overall look of the factory in my opinion. But if you don’t want to really add another building next to it, you can add a fence as a storage area with some wood boxes there and whatever you feel would be a nice fit to it.
Secondly, you can add a bigger steel door to the left side for more details, or you can just add a smoke pipe after adding a roof, for an overall better look.
Other than that, i feel like there is not much you could add as it already looks pretty nice from the outside.

I like the idea of the steel door. I definitely feel that the current doorway feels dull and quick. I don’t plan on moving onto a different building until I have completely finished this one. I was thinking about having a generator or something along those lines on the side of the building due to the maps nature. Although, I do like the idea of having a storage area with crates. I was still trying to come up with a better exterior wall design. Any ideas on that? Thanks for your suggestion.
For the wall design, brick material seems to be fitting really well especially that you’re going for an “old factory” type of build, i would recommend you to add a brick pavement around the building to add more details.
Maybe you can try to add more details to the glass windows aswell, such as the little wood trims and frames.

One idea I have add some dark grey ish pillars to the sharp corners, maybe some moss and hanging leafs
